NYC Parks Program Notes

Information about the youth adaptive sports programs that NYC Parks has to offer, as well as information about recreation center memberships.

  • NYC Parks

    • All kids sports programs + instructional clinics (whether geared towards disabilities or not) free, BUT participants must be registered members of a recreation center

    • Only a few of the sports programs are for kids w/ disabilities:

    • Each sports offers numerous programs per borough 

    • Each borough has their own sports coordinator: 

      • Bronx: Christopher.Suarez@parks.nyc.gov

      • Manhattan: Sandy.Requeno@parks.nyc.gov

      • Track & Field Paralympics Training

        • Ages 8 and up

        • Want kids who are dedicated and have a big interest in track and field

        • Training at many different recreation centers around NYC

        • Goal: train so kids are able to later compete at Paralympic Games

      • Recreation Centers

        • For your child to participate in one of the NYC Parks-sponsored programs above, you need to be a registered member of a recreation center

        • To register:

          • Use this link to browse the recreation centers and find one close to you

          • Then, click “(Center Name) Details and Schedule” to view more info about the center(s) you chose to register at

          • Use this link to access the Recreation Center Membership Registration Form (completed on paper) 

            • Pricing info is on that form
